I have been curating exhibitions since 2017 and performance events since 2018 in synergy with an international network of organisations, institutions, galleries and museums. The following are major curatorial projects of the recent past.

I am the co-founder of the Open Performance Academy (2018). At OPA I will curate live events, both online and in various locations in the Netherlands and in Londen, together with partners of OPA.

Publications

Together with the IBA – International Body of Arts in Londen, I am collaborating in creating a publication. The project will soon be announced.

Live Events

Part of OPA live events I will curate Staging the Living Archive, a program that will run for multiple years, where the OPA library and live performance meet.

Pedagogy

As part of the research/ educational program Ronald Bal will organize the monthly event Open Performance as Practice. Where methods of performance as open structure can be used in developing creative practices in the field of art and education.

Open Performance Academy (OPA) was established in 2018 as a knowledge and practice
platform for artists and theoreticians working with and from performance. Both nationally and
internationally, performance art is receiving increasing attention within the museum context.

Performance Art Netherlands (PA.NL) is an independent organization under the umbrella of OPA. PA.NL supports events, projects and artists in the Netherlands. Both OPA and PA.NL were founded by Ronald Bal, for different aims of supporting live art/ performance art. PA.NL is focused on creating online visibility to live performance events and an artist archive in the Netherlands.

I am the founder of PerformanceArt.NL (2012)
